How To Make Bhindi Masala | Spicy Okra Recipe | Restaurant Style Bhindi Masala | Varun Inamdar

Learn How To Make Bhindi Masala Restaurant Style, a Spicy Okra Recipe popular in the Indian subcontinent. Ingredients:- 400 grams Bhindi (ends trimmed cut into 1-inch pieces) 3 no medium onions sliced 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tbsp ginger garlic and green chilly crushed 2 no chopped tomatoes 1 tbsp red chilly powder 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp amchur powder 1 tsp roasted gram flour 1 tbsp tamarind pulp 4 tbsp curd Fresh coriander 1 bay leaf ½ onion diced ½ tomato diced 3 tbsp oil divided Salt as required Water as required 1 tbsp cream 1 tbsp Kasuri methi 1 tbsp coriander freshly crushed Method:- In a pan heat some oil and shallow fry Okra in it. Heat oil in another pan and add onions and cumin seeds. Once the onions turn golden brown, add crushed ginger-garlic-green chilli, tomatoes and cook well. Lower the flame and add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masla powder, amchur powder, salt and mix it well. Add some water and let it all cook for 7-8 minutes. Turn the flame off and let the masala cool down to room temperature. Once the masala has cooled down grind it to a fine paste in a mixer/grinder by adding gram flour, coriander leaves, tamarind pulp and yoghurt. Heat oil in the same pan again and add bay leaves, onions, tomatoes, salt, the gravy paste, water and mix it well. Simmer on low flame for 5-6 minutes. Now add cooked Okra, fresh cream, Kasur Methi and give it a final mix. Let it simmer for 30-40 seconds and Bhindi Masala is ready to serve. Garnish with coriander seeds and fresh cream and serve hot! (full video link👇👇👇 Bhindi pyaaz (okra recipe) ingredients 500 grams okra (bhindi or lady fingers) 2 medium to big onions sliced (pyaaz) 1 big tomato sliced(tamater) 1/4 tsp mustard seeds(rai) 1/2 tsp cumin seeds(jeera) 5 to 6 whole green chillies as per taste (haru mirch) 1/4 tsp asafoetida(hing) 1/2 tsp turmeric (haldi) salt to taste (namak) Method Wash bhindi wipe with clean cloth and dry them Then cut into 3 to 4 pieces each depending on the lenght of okras Heat oil in a kadhai add mustrd seeds then add cumin seeds Once they splutter well add whole green chillies slit and add ( u can even chop them ) Then add asafoetida add sliced onions sautey till onions are pink and translucent Then add bhindi mix well cover and cook on low to medium for 5 minutes After 5 minutes open and mix once then cover again till onions are golden and bhindi shrink a little keeo the flame to lowest seeting now After 5 minutes open mix once add tomatoes salt and turmeric mix well Simmer another 5 minutes till tomatoes are soft Garnish with coriander leaves serve with phulka roti dal rice Take care jazak allah khair

how to cook okra indian style in 2 min Many people asked me about salt. As you can see I am an INDIAN guy. Indians eat lot of salt hence according to my taste I choose to put a bit more ;) Again if you want to purchase the masala just go to any Big Asda or Tesco or even Morrison and search for MDH masala. OKRA is my favorite hence I learn how to cook it fast. Selecting and Storing Okra The peak season for fresh okra is May through September, though you can usually find it year-round throughout the southern United States. Look for small, crisp, brightly colored pods without brown spots or blemishes. Avoid shriveled pods. To store fresh okra, refrigerate the pods, tightly wrapped, for up to three days. Gather the Ingredients You'll need: 1 pound fresh okra (about 45 small to medium) 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper Cooking oil for deep- frying INSTRUCTIONS: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. when hot, add mustard and cumin seeds and cook until they start to pop or change color. Add the onion, chili, garlic, ginger and cook until translucent. 4 mins. I usually use my mini food processor to chop these. Lots of onion garlic chili used in Indian food, so i know i will need more chopped for dals or curries. Add okra and pinch of salt., Cook for 10 minutes or until golden on some edges. Stir occasionally. Roasting the okra till the edges dry out a bit will seal in the slime. Add spices, tomato, ketchup, salt and water. Cover and cook until tomatoes are cooked. 6 mins Taste and adjust salt and spice. Mash the larger tomato pieces. Sprinkle some garam masala and mix in. Garnish with cilantro. Serve in a bowl with dals, soups or curries and cooked grains or flatbread. NOTES Variation: Add some amchur (dry mango powder) with the tomatoes. Add in some coconut milk for creamier sauce.
