Yorkshire Pride: MUNCHIES Guide to the North of England (Episode 3)

Subscribe to Munchies here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-MUNCHIES To some, it's just a bunch of chips in between two slices of bread, but to others a chip butty is an identity. Ben's gastronomic tour of the North takes him to God's Own Country—Yorkshire—where he embraces the meaning of "graft" and learns how to make a pork pie. It's hungry work, but luckily a gravy sandwich is never too far away. Keeping it Kosher in LA's Kosher Corridor: Soul Food

In this episode of Soul Food, our host Kiran Deol heads over to LA’s Kosher Corridor to get wise to the ways one can keep it kosher. She gets schooled by the local butcher, and discovers that today’s kosher food and drink is much more than just matzo balls and sweet, syrupy wine. Kosher cuisine can be contemporary, or really any style of food—be it burritos or a lamb belly “bacon” sandwich with homemade sriracha—as long as one follows strict kosher guidelines. Kiran’s exploration of where the spirit meets the stomach ends with an insightful invite for a Friday night sampling of a Shabbat dinner. Skeet Shooting, Trout Fishing, & the Turd Confederacy

In this episode of Keep It Canada, Matty heads to the Quebec countryside to hangout with Emma Cardarelli, chef and co-owner of Nora Grey. Emma's catches quickly outnumbers Matty ten to one when the two go fishing for trout. Before returning their bounty to Nora Grey, they manage to sneak in a quick skeet-shooting session with expert Charles Antoine. Matty also visits the headquarters of Société-Orignal—plus their offsite beehive, Gourmet Sauvage, and Ferme la Rose Des Vents—to source local ingredients for a huge family-style meal where he prepares whelk pie, tourtiere, and roasted chicken with root vegetables. (Oh, and we should mention that Matty also becomes an official member of the Turd Confederacy.) As a lover of the sandwich and curious chef, London sandwich shop owner Max Halley is travelling the UK to find inspiration for a new sandwich to put on his menu. This episode of The Sandwich Show takes him to the Northumberland coast, where he forages for seaweed, cooks monkfish kebabs in a seaside shack, and learns how to smoke a kipper.

It doesn't take much to make a sandwich—all it really comes down to is putting stuff between two slices of bread. But as Max knows, in the right hands, the humble sarnie can become a flavour-packed meal in its own right.
