How much does age matter in real estate? One of the most frequently asked questions, basically for any industry, revolves around age. We have been led to believe that our age determines our ability, which could not be any farther from the truth.

If you are confident in yourself, you can be successful no matter what age you are (assuming you are old enough to get a license). Most people are concerned with how competent their agent is, not how old they are. I started selling houses when I was 22 and encountered very few problems from my age. The trick to being a successful agent is not your age, but your work ethic, training, plans, and execution. Most agents do not know what they are doing or how to be successful. The right training is key to being a successful agent. Choose a broker who will train you and show you how to build a business. As someone who is in the trenches daily when it comes to the old school methods of prospecting, I can tell you that there are great benefits to hiring an agent who does this... There are so many other factors that would play into why someone hires an agent, but finding an agent who is hard at work as a first impression is a great starting point.
It is natural to feel a little out of place when you're surrounded by other people who are almost always twice or even three times your age. But that is a limiting belief that you need to get rid of.
You'll find that being younger is actually an advantage that many people wish they could have. Use this to your benefit, because time is the most valuable asset anyone can have.
